Frequently asked questions

Q: How do I know if Alpine Meadows is right for me or my loved one?

A: Alpine Meadows gives older people the opportunity to live with independence and spend more time doing the things they enjoy—all with the peace of mind that someone is always there to help. Alpine Meadows is a warm and friendly community designed especially for the senior population who might need a little help with daily tasks but do not require 24 hour nursing care.

If you’re looking for an Assisted Living lifestyle, Alpine Meadows may be the place for you. We offer a secure and caring environment for our seniors, and Alpine Retreat, is a short-term stay for trial periods, vacation or hospital recovery. Come visit our community, and become part of our family.

Q: Can I bring my own furnishings to my apartment?

A: Absolutely. This is your home and you should have all the comforts and furnishings you enjoy. Alpine Meadow residents enjoy decorating their own apartments and entrances to add their own personality to their new home.

Q: Can I bring my pet to Alpine Meadows?

A: We know your pet is an important member of your family. Alpine Meadows allow their residents to have pets in their apartment for a nominal fee.

Q: Does Alpine Meadows allow smoking?

A: We are sensitive to the health needs of all of our residents, so Alpine Meadows is a non-smoking campus.

Q: Will I have access to medical care?

A: Alpine Meadows has a licensed registered nurse, that is our Resident Service Director, and she oversees all aspects of care, including assessments, medication assistance and communication with physicians and families when needed. In addition, Medical centers and hospitals are easily accessible from our community.

Q: Is there an emergency call system?

A: All Alpine Meadows apartments are equipped with emergency call systems. Our residents also can chose to have a pendant or bracelet, (that is a wireless component to the emergency call system) to keep on their person at all times. After all when seniors fall or really need help, how often do they fall right by the call cord?

Q: What options are there for activities?

A: When older people come to Alpine Meadows, they step into a vibrant community of peers. Our activities program, Living Your Best Life, is based on an extensive review of residents’ hobbies and interests. Every activity is designed to touch on at least one of the eight specific components to keep your mind, body, and soul active. Your Activities Director will spend time getting to know each senior and exploring their interests. We’re certain you will find something that’s right for you among exercise classes, arts and crafts, book discussions, bingo, card games, Wii tournaments, outings, and much more. We want our residents to say that since they moved to Alpine Meadows they are busier than ever!

Q: What is the food like at Alpine Meadows?

A: At Alpine Meadows, dining is enjoyable. Our seniors will enjoy nutritious meals every day prepared by experienced cooks and served by our loving staff. Our culinary experts offer a selection of fresh, high-quality foods to each residents needs. We design menus that reflect traditional and local tastes, and change our selections with the seasons. Special dietary needs are easily accommodated.

Q: Is there ample privacy in Alpine Meadows’ accommodations?

A: Alpine Meadows has a variety of floor plans that offer private accommodations and private bathrooms. Residents have their own keys and may come and go as they please.

Q: Is there access to transportation and is it wheelchair accessible?

A: Yes. Alpine Meadows provides transportation and wheelchair accessibility at our community.

Q: How much does it cost to live at Alpine Meadows?

A: At Alpine Meadows, residents find more than a home---they find a vibrant and loving community and a second family. Because care is tailored to individual needs, residents pay only for the services they require (in addition to the basic room rent rates). Each resident’s rate is determined by a thorough assessment by the assessment team, which consists of the Care Supervisor, Licensed Nurse, and the Administrator. We use a point-value system based on the amount of time and level of assistance a resident may require. The rate can be adjusted as a resident’s needs change. This way, each resident receives just the right amount of assistance he or she needs to live with independence and dignity. And behind the scenes, there is a well-run business in place that is dedicated to delivering the quality of care and services residents enjoy that’s worth the price they pay.
