Frank Salazar - CC Head Chef / Kitchen Supervisor
Although Frank has been cooking for 20 plus years, he decided to pursue it as a career in 2009. After graduating from the Culinary Arts Program through the College of Western Idaho, Frank interned at Hillcrest Country Club. He has worked in the kitchens of the Bardenay, Kanack Attack and the Riverside Hotel.
Frank’s philosophy on cooking is to use the freshest ingredients available, and to present dishes that appeal to all the senses. He is honored to work with seniors and takes great pride in his profession.
Frank is always smiling and can often be heard singing away in the kitchen. He enjoys spending time with his lovely wife Amy, and his three beautiful children - Antonio, Mariah & Elliatt.
Karena Ireland came to nursing after first having been a children’s pastor for Nampa First Church here in Idaho. But her love for hospice care called to her and she responded! Since receiving her training, Karena has lectured annually at various universities about end of life nursing and she has also taught clinical courses to first year nursing students at CWI. Karena loves working with seniors as she feels she has the opportunity to utilize all her talents every day! Karena has had two goals recently, first to lose 150 pounds (she did it!) and second to mentor our staff and encourage them to dream big! And here at Alpine Meadows, she hopes to build strong relationships with our residents and their families. When she’s not working, Karena enjoys being with the love of her life, Randy, and her six children (ranging in age from 2 to 24) hiking and spending time outdoors.
